Who walks these woods

A two-person operation, a thousand acres of forest, and one stubborn rule.

Sam & Jess · Tionesta, PA

We're Sam and Jess. We started Wild Creek as a way to share what the forest already gives, without dressing it up.

Every plant in every jar was identified by hand, harvested in season, and processed within days. Nothing waits in a warehouse. Nothing comes from somewhere we can’t walk to.

If we wouldn’t put it on our own kids, it doesn’t go in the jar.

We started Wild Creek out of frustration. The herbal market is full of products labeled “natural” that come from anywhere and everywhere. We wanted something different: a jar where every plant in it has a story you can trace.

So we walk. We know the white oak by the bend in the creek where the deer rut. We know the patch of plantain that comes back every May. We know which year the chanterelles will be heavy, and which year they won’t.

That’s the whole pitch. No outsourcing. No fillers. No mystery ingredients. Just people, plants, and time.

Step 1

Identify

Every plant is identified by both of us before it goes in the basket. Doubt means we leave it.

Step 2

Harvest

We take only what regenerates. The patch we picked from last year is bigger this year.

Step 3

Render

Within days of harvest, plants are dried, infused, or rendered. Nothing waits in a freezer for months.
